Missing 3 year old found in Lilbourn after 2-hour search

LILBOURN, Mo. (KBSI) – Emergency crews found a missing three-year old child early Thursday morning in New Madrid County.

New Madrid County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Lilbourn around 3:30 a.m. on March 14 after receiving a call of a missing 3 year old.

The child who was wearing only a diaper, walked out of the home sometime between 12:30-3:30 a.m.

New Madrid County Sheriff’s deputies, Lilbourn firefighters, New Madrid police and fire departments, New Madrid County Emergency Management Agency, Sikeston Department of Public Safety’s HRT and citizens began a search of the area responded to search for the child.

After a two hour search, the three year old was found about 1/4 of a mile from the home.

New Madrid County Ambulance Service responded and assessed the child before being released from the scene.
