CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI)- The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the City of Carbondale and Carbondale Community High School, is excited to announce a joint job fair aimed at connecting local businesses with Carbondale high school students.

The event will take place on May 7th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Carbondale Community High School.

The job fair presents an excellent opportunity for businesses in the area to meet and recruit motivated high school students for part-time, and summer positions.

Participating businesses are encouraged to engage with students who are eager to gain valuable work experience, develop essential skills, and contribute positively to the local workforce.

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Carbondale and Carbondale Community High School for our 3rd annual job fair,” said William Lo, Chamber Director of the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce.

“This event is a fantastic platform for businesses to tap into the potential of our high school students while offering valuable employment opportunities. We have had great luck in connecting students with businesses with the past two job fairs and we are looking to grow.”

Businesses across various industries, including retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, and more, are invited to participate in the job fair.

Employers who can offer positions suitable for high school-age students are encouraged to register for a table and showcase their available opportunities.

The job fair will offer 2 sessions: first a meet and greet with students and the 2nd session will allow businesses to interview and hopefully hire students on the spot businesses interested in participating in the job fair can register by contacting William Lo at (618)549-2146 or email at wlo@carbondalechamber.com Students and parents are also encouraged to mark their calendars and attend this valuable event on April 10th at Carbondale Community High School.
