Dexter police arrest juvenile after car, guns stolen
DEXTER, Mo. (KBSI) – Police took a 17 year old from Bertrand into custody after officers say the teen drove a stolen car.
Police say early on March 23, officers with the Dexter Police Department were called to look into a report of a stolen car in the 700 block of West Elk Street.
During the investigation, the car was found unoccupied in Dexter.
About an hour later, they then responded to a car alarm in the 500 block of South Catalpa where a gun was stolen.
Detectives were able to stop a car about 15 minutes later.
They say the driver is a 17 year old from Bertrand. Police say two male passengers in the car tried to run from the scene.
During the search, five guns were seized. Police say four of those guns were stolen earlier from several cars in Dexter.
