New fire chief named in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – The city of Carbondale has a new fire chief.

Rob Miller has worked for the city of Carbondale for the past 25 years and has served as assistant fire chief since 2018.

Current Chief Mike Hertz will soon begin his retirement.

Chief Miller will begin his new role as fire chief on April 15.
