Silent disco party held at Perryville’s Solarfest

PERRYVILLE Mo. (KBSI) – A silent disco party is held at The Warehouse as part of a line of events at The Solarfest on April 7, in celebration of the total solar eclipse.

This year’s eclipse marks the second time a total solar eclipse will pass over the Perry County, and coordinators felt it was the right time to do something different.

Trish Erzfeld, who is Tourism Director for the Perry County Heritage Tourism, explains the creativity for the dance party, “We’ve never had that in our community before. So, you put the headsets on and they glow blue, green, or red so that if you’re listening to red, your friend’s listening to green, your other friend’s listening to blue; you’re all kind of jamming to a beat, but not the same song. It’s just so much fun, and then we have lights, we have colored floor lights. We’re going to have glow swag, it’s going to be a blast.”

The weekend-long event will continue on through Monday in light of the April 8 eclipse.
