Murray woman facing theft charge after vehicle scrapped without owner’s permission

MURRAY , Ky. (KBSI) – A Murray woman faces a theft charge after sheriff’s deputies say she took a vehicle to be scrapped without permission from the owner.
Carol E. Lee, 45 faces a charge of theft by unlawful taking-auto greater than $1000 and less than $10,000 (Class D felony).
Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies arrest Lee on April 16 around 10:30 p.m. at her home following an investigation of theft.
The victim told authorities the vehicle was from Loon Lane in February 2024. Deputies believe Lee took the vehicle to be scrapped without permission from the owner.
She was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
