Carbondale police investigating multiple reports of damage to vehicle tires
CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police ask for the public’s help after receiving 10 reports of criminal damage to property involving damaged vehicle tires.
Officer have investigated those reports between April 10-24. All of the incidents occurred at night.
Police say it happened in the 500 blocks of South Rawlings and West Mill Streets, the 600 and 800 blocks of West Walnut Street, the 800 block of West Cherry Street, the 300 and 600 blocks of South James Street, the 100 block of South Forest and two times in the 400 block of West Mill Street.
Officers responded to the 500 block of S. Rawlings Street for multiple reports of shots fired at 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24.
When they arrived, officers the suspects already left the area.
Officers learned a silver car was driven north on South Rawlings Street at the time of the shots fired.
No injuries were reported, but one vehicle at the scene was damaged.
Another vehicle damaged by gunfire was later found abandoned in the 400 block of West Elm Street.
Carbondale police ask the public for information about the incidents or possible video footage from Ring doorbell cameras or similar surveillance systems that may have captured the suspect or suspects.
Officers will continue providing and extra presence and conduct extra patrols in the area.
