Man facing drug charges after traffic stop in rural Benton, IL

BENTON, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces several charges after a traffic stop in rural Benton, Illinois.

Elvis Fitzpatrick faces charges of driving while license revoked, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a driver in rural Benton on Tuesday afternoon (April 30).

Deputies learned that Fitzpatrick’s driving privileges were revoked.

The registration of the vehicle was also suspended.

Deputies arrested Fitzpatrick. They searched him and found he was unlawfully in possession of a controlled substance.

He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
