VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI)- Vienna High School juniors Ethyn Bradley and Kendyl Sparks have been selected to serve on the Illinois Education and Career Success Network Student Advisory Council.

“Having student voices from Southern Illinois elevated to state level councils, boards, and committees is a win for all students in Southern Illinois. Kendyl and Ethyn are both excellent choices. They not only represent Vienna well, but are also both well spoken, passionate, hard working, and highly intelligent and motivated young adults,” said Joshua Stafford school superintendent.

The Council gathers feedback on student experiences and various initiatives the Network supports.

Network Organizers also seek to understand what kinds of support would be helpful to students as they navigate the education system.

The Council gathers on a regular basis to share their perspectives to inform the Network’s efforts and statewide policy more broadly, deepen their own knowledge on issues that advance educational equity, and strengthen their understanding of the education policy and practice landscape in Illinois.

Being members on the Council gives Bradley and Sparks opportunities to recommend improvements in the educational systems all across Illinois, as well as, have accessibility to Success Network leaders from around Illinois to learn more about the diverse careers in the education sector.
