CHAFFEE, Mo., (KBSI)- In the event of severe weather, the Chaffee Community Care Portal Team will open the basement of the United Methodist Church as a shelter.

They will be keeping a close eye on the weather as this next system unfolds.

Please note: If the severe weather hits in the middle of the night, they may not get the alert in time to go over to the church.
When they get the church basement opened up, they will post on their Facebook page to let everyone know.

The church basement is not handicap accessible.

What to Do: Stay informed about the weather forecast and warnings. If the shelter is not open, stay in a safe place in your home, such as an interior room on the lowest floor. Follow the instructions of local officials.

Stay Safe: Be aware of your surroundings and listen for any warnings or instructions. If you see downed power lines or other hazards, stay away and report them to the authorities.

Location: United Methodist Church.
