Salvation Army hosts first annual fair
CAPE GIRARDEAU Mo. (KBSI) – The Salvation Army is an organization known to help and give back to the community, and this Saturday’s fair is no exception.
This is the first year that The Salvation Army put together a free fair, and after seeing an excellent turnout, volunteers say this won’t be the last.
Lily Reinier, who is part of The Salvation Army’s staff, says they want to keep up their support for the community by offering a fun time.
“We’re just getting people out, bringing people together in the community. Just trying to have a family fun day for everyone in the community.” Said Reinier. “The kids that come through here, they had a great time. Lots of face painting and tattoos happening. Root beer floats, you know kids love ice cream, popsicles. So, we had all that.”
According to Reinier, over 300 people came out to see the live band and bounce house.
To volunteer for future events, the staff welcomes anyone to stop by the office.
