5 Redhawks baseball players on 2024 All-Ohio Valley Conference teams

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Five players from the Southeast Missouri State baseball team made the 2024 All-Ohio Valley Conference Postseason Baseball Teams.
Five players from No. 2 Southeast Missouri Baseball are on the 2024 All-Ohio Valley Conference Postseason Baseball Teams, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship presented by SERVPRO in Marion, Ill. begins Wednesday, May 22, at 9 a.m. at Mtn. Dew Park.
Outfielder Josh Cameron, RHP Kyle Miller, utility Ty Stauss, shortstop Ben Palmer, and second baseman Brooks Kettering were voted to receive postseason honors by the league’s head coaches and communications directors.
Cameron and Miller finished with first team honors. Cameron, a senior from Plfugerville, Texas was on the All-OVC 2nd Team a season ago (2023). Miller has now been a postseason all-conference selection for the third time in his career (’21 & ’22).
Right-handed pitcher Kyle Miller finished the year as the career appearances leader in Southeast Missouri program history. He finished with his 82nd appearance Saturday, May 18 versus UT Martin.
Miller, a senior from Eureka, Mo., finished the season with seven saves. He closes his career as the all-time saves leader in SEMO history (broken in ’23). He recorded 29 strikeouts, a 4-2 record with a 3.38 ERA over 24.0 innings pitched. Opponents hit .195 against him in 2024.
Utility player Ty Stauss and infielders Ben Palmer and Brooks Kettering landed on the 2nd team list.
Stauss finished with a .324 batting average, 61 hits, 43 runs, 16 doubles, eight home runs, and 47 RBIs. The senior started much of the season in left field for the Redhawks.
Shortstop Ben Palmer played and started in every single game in 2024, He landed on the 2nd Team list and Is the first postseason honor of his career. The senior from Fridley, Minnesota led the team in both home runs (16) and sacrifice bunts in 2024. He finished the season with 45 RBIs, seven stolen bases, a .293 batting average, and 60 hits hitting in the two-hole the entire year.
Freshman Brooks Kettering landed on two lists this postseason. He garnered 2nd-Team All-OVC honors. Kettering was selected to the All-Freshman team as well. The Springfield, Mo.-native started in 54-out-of-55 games in 2024 as the primary leadoff hitter in the SEMO lineup.
He finished the season with a .305 batting average, 67 hits, 55 runs, 10 doubles, six home runs, 32 RBIs and seven stolen bases. He fielded at a .972 clip, making every start at second base in 2024.
The Redhawks will await the winner of game No. 4 on Wednesday afternoon and will either play No. 6 Eastern Illinois, No. 7 SIUE, or No. 3 Morehead State. The winner of No. 6 & No. 7 will take on Morehead State on Wednesday afternoon, with the winner moving on to play No. 2 Southeast at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.
