MoDOT to hold public meeting about Route 34/51 intersection in Marble Hill

MARBLE HILL, Mo. (KBSI) – The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting in Marble Hill to discuss plans to improve the south Route 34/51 intersection in Marble Hill.

Thee meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 10 at Woodland Schools in the FEMA building, located at 8729 Jackal Drive, Marble Hill, Missouri.

The proposed project includes upgrading the existing Route 34/51 intersection to improve turning movements for tractor trailers and other larger vehicles.

Crews plan to accomplish this by widening and increasing some of the radiuses at the existing intersection. The project also includes improvements to the pedestrian crossings and adding a section of sidewalk to connect to the existing pedestrian facility.

The project is expected to be let in February 2025.

Crews say construction could begin as early as spring 2025.

Work will be staged to allow the intersection to remain open with minor detours, as needed.

Completion of the project is anticipated in November 2025.

The public meeting will be open house style. Visitors can stop-by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to discuss the details of the project with the project team.
