(KBSI) – Severe weather ripped through parts of Southeast Missouri early Sunday morning.

Power is currently out all over Sikeston due to downed powerlines from this morning’s storm.

New Madrid County Deputies, along with emergency personnel have worked several accidents on I-55 and US Hwy 60 involving overturned tractor trailers blocking the roadway.

Authorities urge residents to use caution when checking on family or occupying roadways as there are several powerlines and trees also blocking the roadways.

Anyone who is going to be displaced due to the storm can contact 1-800-733-2767 (1-800-RED CROSS) and the Red Cross will assess your situation individually.
