DUNKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – Two men were electrocuted when their dump trailer came in contact with a power line on Tuesday.

Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder says John Langston and William Lesslie died at the scene.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Clarkton Sewer Plant on East Commercial Street on May 28 around 8:05 a.m. for a report of a vehicle fire with two injured people.

Sheriff Bob Holder says the dump truck was raised in an upright position to unload gravel that was in the trailer. While it was raised, it came in contact with a high-voltage power line.

It is under investigation.

Ameren crews responded to disable the power lines.
