Gov. Beshear: 5 dead after string of tornadoes in KY

(KBSI) – Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said five lives were lost from Sunday’s string of tornadoes.

Beshear visited the affected areas and met with families and local officials.

He maintained he’ll keep his promise.

“And like after all of them we make the same promise that we will get everyone back up on their feet, and that we will rebuild,” Gov. Beshear said. “Remember if a national disaster takes out 10 homes or a thousand for each of those families the impact is the same and our response needs to help them all.”

Gov. Beshear confirmed there are still nearly 10,000 power outages although that is down from 200,000.
