Saxony Lutheran Women’s Soccer team drops first Final Four match to Summit Christian Academy
FENTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Saxony Lutheran Women’s soccer team loses their first match of the Final Four against Summit Christian Academy by a final score of two to one (2-1). The Crusaders will play for third place Saturday, June 1, once again at the World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri.
Saxony Lutheran Women’s soccer team was led by Mallory Kohlfeld who scored the only goal on the day for the Crusaders. Saxony shot the ball five times on the day, with four of those shots being on goal.
Saxony Lutherans goaltender, Grace Ozark had 12 saves on the day facing 14 shot attempts, playing the full 80 minutes.
Summit Christian Academy were led by forwards Grace Hay, and Brynne McFarland who both scored a goal on the day. Grace Hay had six shot attempts with four on goal, and Brynne McFarland had five shot attempts with four on goal as well.
Summit Christian Academy’s goal tender Lila Painter had three saves and allowed one goal in her 80 minutes of play.
Kickoff is slated for 10 a.m. as Saxony Lutheran Women’s soccer team takes on Laquey who will come in with an 18-5-1 record after they lost in overtime to Lutheran St. Charles in the first round of the Final Four.
