Man facing drug charges after traffic stop near Mayfield
GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Clinton man faces drug charges after a traffic stop near Mayfield.
Mason Courtney, 43 of Clinton faces charges of DUI 2nd offense, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense-methamphetamine as well as other traffic charges.
On June 2, around 9:10 p.m., Graves County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Caldwell conducted a traffic stop on Paris Road after watching a vehicle commit traffic offenses on KY 303 just south of Mayfield.
Courtney was identified as the driver.
The deputy determined that Courtney was driving his vehicle while under the influence.
He was placed under arrest for DUI.
Deputies found two clear baggies containing methamphetamine after the arrest, one of which deputies say Courtney tried to discard so they could not locate it.
Deputy Caldwell was assisted by Deputy Tony Cornwell and Deputy Garret Clark.
