Cape County Park-North playground to close for renovations

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A playground at Cape County Park-North in Cape Girardeau will close for renovations.

Melania’s Magical Playground will be closed beginning Monday, July 15 through the end of August.

The renovations will include the installation of a new surface, a new slide, the replacement of steps, new fencing, concrete repair and new concrete for an addition to the playground.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause, and we thank our residents for their patience,” said Director of Park Bryan Sander. “We are excited to reopen the playground in August with these new improvements that will make it a safer and more enjoyable place for children and families.”

The renovations are expected to be completed by the end of August.

Citizens wanting to reserve Shelter #8 (adjacent to playground) should call the park department at 573-335-4146 to reserve.
