Mary Smith is seen in attendance, for the third time, to sell her sweet treats. She says her business; Maw Maw’s Sweet Shoppe has drawn in quite the customer base thanks to today’s gathering, where she tells customers her motto is “always fresh, never frozen”.

“We do whole pies, or we do by the piece. We do catering, we do cookies and cakes and pies. If you name it, we can do it fresh. Everything is homemade.”

Along with those baked goods, are vendors who are ready to offer barbecue fresh off the grill, or even those with boutiques.

Smith says business usually picks up for the people around the time everyone gets off of work, which is the start of the event. making for better a better atmosphere.

“And it just gets bigger. People come out, and it’s amazing with the live music and just the kids, they love it out here. And everybody watches everybody and the trucks all kind of look out for each other.”

Whether you’re present for food or for a blossoming business, the choice is yours upon entry at Arena Park.

“It puts your name out there to recognize you when you have your name. And when they come through, they’ll be like oh yea, I remember you from somewhere else.”
