One dead, multiple injured after deadly crash in Kenucky

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KBSI) — Yesterday afternoon, Kentucky State Police received several 911 calls about a crash at the intersection of KY 440 and KY 408 West, two miles south of the Lowes Community.
First responders arrived to find two cars had collided, it resulted in three people injured, and one person dead.
Through an investigation, it was determined, that 80-year-old Robert Garner from Advance was traveling westbound on KY 408 West operating a 2014 Ford pickup truck and pulling a single axel trailer. At the same time, 16-year-old Christian Taylor from Lowes was operating a 2016 Toyota minivan northbound on KY 440.
Garner pulled into the path of Taylor at the intersection of KY 408 and KY 440. The two cars collided and traveled off the roadway’s northwest side. Both vehicles then impacted with a utility pole, splitting it in half.
Taylor received minor injuries in the collision, his mother Carrie Taylor received serious injuries and was taken by air evac to Skyline Hospital in Nashville.
Garner’s passenger Margaret Garner received minor injuries in the collision and was taken to a local hospital. Robert Garner was pronounced dead on the scene by Graves County Coroner’s Office.
