Storms, high humidity likely for Wednesday
Near record high temperatures today set the stage for a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day on Wednesday. Storms will be possible from the early morning hours until the late afternoon.
The latest runs of the models show an initial line of precipitation coming through the region just before 7 am Wednesday morning. A second round of storms is expected to develop just behind this, allowing the chances of precipitation to linger into the afternoon.
Because of this, we are under a marginal risk of severe weather for Wednesday, with small chances to see large hail and damaging winds.
The passing storms will try and give us a break from the heat. High temperatures are forecasted to be in the upper 80s, which is right around average for this time of year.
Expect very humid conditions for the middle of the work week, with dew points reaching the mid 70s and working to drive heat indices into the 90s.
The sun will return for the back half of the week before we see mid 90s and a chance for afternoon storms to start off the weekend. Rain chances continue through the weekend, before looking to start the work week with near average high temperatures and clear skies.
