14-year-old charged with murder in fatal Paducah shooting

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) — A 14-year-old has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting Monday night in Paducah.
According to the Paducah Police Department, detectives identified the juvenile as the suspected shooter after interviewing several people and serving multiple search warrants during the investigation.
Police said the 14-year-old is accused of firing a handgun during an argument, fatally shooting a 17-year-old male.
The suspect, who is from Paducah, was taken into custody at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday and lodged at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
The shooting happened at about 10:55 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Bronson Avenue. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found the 17-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided first aid until emergency medical personnel arrived.
The teen was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died.
