Opdyke man sentenced to 57 years for sexual assault of a child, production/possession of child porn

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – An Opdyke man was sentenced to 57 years behind bars after pleading guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13 years of age and production/possession of child pornography victim under 13 years of age.

Anthony H. Powell, 28, pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13 years of age and two counts of production/possession of child pornography victim under 13 years of age on June 25

Honorable Judge Crisel accepted the negotiated plea and sentenced Powell to 57 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation March 25 that led to Powell’s arrest.
