Two arrested for drug trafficking in Mayfield, Ky.

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI)- On June 28, 2024, a Methamphetamine Trafficking arrest was made, by Deputy Peyton Jackson and Deputy Austin Ramage, who conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US 45 North between Mayfield and Hickory.
Deputy Ramage contacted the operator, Edward Ellegood, 50 of Mayfield, and his passenger, Amber Zib-Poot, 39 of Mayfield.
During the traffic stop, K9 Storm and Sgt. David Harrison with the Mayfield Police Department were asked to come to the scene to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle. K-9 Storm hit on the vehicle, indicating to Sgt. Harrison, drugs were inside the vehicle.
Deputy Ramage and Deputy Jackson conducted a search based on the results of Storm and Sgt. Harrison.
The search yielded approximately a quarter of an ounce of methamphetamine, 13 hydrocodone pills, along with drug paraphernalia to include scales.
Ellegood also displayed numerous signs of impairment and was ultimately found to be under the influence of controlled substances.
Ellegood and Zib-Poot were both arrested and transported to the Graves County RC Center and where later transferred to an out of county facility by Graves County Jail staff.
Ellegood was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense – Two Grams of More of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Pills), Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess, DUI 2nd Offense and a traffic offense.
Zib-Poot was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense – Two Grams of More of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offenses (Pills) and Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess.
