City Leaders say farewell to Chief Wes Blair
CAPE GIRARDEAU Mo. (KBSI) – Chief Wes Blair’s last day with the Cape Girardeau Police Department will be on July 24, and he will begin his journey at Memphis International Airport.
Since learning of Blair’s resignation, many city leaders have given their sincerest farewells. That includes City Manager Kenneth Haskin, who shared a statement:
“Wes has served the city admirably over the past 11 years. We knew his retirement was imminent and that he would pursue other opportunities thereafter. We are proud to call him a colleague, and personally, I am proud to call him a friend. We are excited for him as he embarks on his next venture in life. I am confident in Assistant Chief, Adam Glueck’ s, ability to step up during this interim period. He has been well-trained and will do an excellent job managing the department. Next steps, we have several good options that we will consider in the coming weeks and months.”
Blair is set to begin his new role as Chief with the Memphis Shelby County Airport Authority on August 12.
