Several gunshots, people injured in Charleston & Sikeston
CHARLESTON Mo. (KBSI) – Six people are injured after a shooting in Charleston early Monday morning.
Trevaughn Majal Robinson lives in Charleston close to where the shooting happened. He says that it is scary, especially for him and his children.
“It did happen close near to my house and that’s scary because I have my kids with me and I don’t want anything to happen to them either,” said Robinson.
People in Charleston heard about it early Monday morning after the shooting happened just after midnight, injuring six people.
Around the same time as the gunfire in Charleston, police began looking into a similar situation in Sikeston. Officers discovered several homes and vehicles were hit by gunfire in the 300 block of Magnolia.
Patty Massey is from Sikeston. She believes it is too easy for guns to fall into the wrong hands.
“Six people were injured,” said Massey. “Now when I was a kid, my dad used to deer hunt and he would keep his rifles and stuff they weren’t locked up or anything the shells were in the case with the weapons or whatever. Me and my brother we used to fight a lot but when we were kids, but we didn’t think about going and doing something like that.”
