WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – A woman faces several charges after sheriff’s deputies say they found drugs after a police chase.

Jerri L. Stritzel faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer and reckless driving.

Deputies tried to stop a vehicle. They say the driver continued to drive fast for about three-quarters of a mile south on Prosperity Road before turning into a driveway in the 14,000 block of Prosperity Road.

Deputies say they saw the driver get out of the vehicle. They ordered her to stop. She was arrested.

Deputies say they found schedule 3 controlled substance inside a white film canister in a purse belonging to Stritzel. They say she told them it was Suboxone and was unable to provide a prescription.

Stritzel was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
