MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating theft from unlocked vehicles on July 9.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Peppers Mill Drive and Pershing Way on July 9 after receiving a complaint of thefts from unlocked vehicles.

Deputies learned that during the early morning hours, at least two people took items from unlocked vehicles in the neighborhood.

A handgun and US currency were taken from unlocked vehicles.

Deputies believe that the suspects were not from the neighborhood. They say it appears that a car was used in the thefts.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the neighborhood. However, at this stage in the investigation they say none of the footage is useful.

Police ask residents in the neighborhood to review any surveillance footage that they may possess to determine if there is useful footage that may identify the suspects.
