TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reopened a section of KY 126 in northeastern Trigg County where a sinkhole developed in the roadway last week.

KY 126 (Cobb Road) had to be blocked near the 5.2 mile point. That is about 50 ft south of the Trigg-Caldwell County Line where a sinkhole about the size of a bushel basket formed in the middle of the roadway.

The KYTC Trigg County Highway Maintenance Crew used concrete to plug the hole this week and backfilled the opening.

KY 126 (Cobb Road) reopened at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 26.

Drivers are urged to use appropriate caution as the excavation will have a gravel surface and will be allowed to settle before a permanent asphalt cap is added.
