Vehicle theft leaves one dead after stabbing in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, IL (KBSI) – A stabbing and vehicle theft took place on July 20 at 2:49 a.m. on the 500 Block of East Sycamore Street.

The victim was in a personal vehicle to a local hospital and he died from his wounds. The original reporter received non-life threatening injuries from a gun shot wound during the same altercation. All involved are known acquaintances and have been identified by Carbondale Police. Their names have yet to be released and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
