Stolen Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicle recovered

WAYNE COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A person was arrested after a Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicle was stolen on Sunday, July 21.

Sgt. Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says a trooper was handling a stolen motorcycle arrest when the suspect stole a Highway Patrol vehicle on July 21.

Troop E troopers chased the driver in the patrol vehicle and successfully used spike strips.

The suspect stopped in a wooded area of US Forest Service property in Wayne County and ran away on foot.

It appears the firearms from the patrol vehicle are secure.

Suspect was taken into custody without incident.

No further updates anticipated.
