Woman facing drug charges after search of home near Mayfield
GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A woman faces nearly the same drug charges two years later in Graves County.
Ava Nell Davis, 68, faces charges of trafficking in a 1st degree controlled substance 2nd or subsequent offense, possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription controlled substance not in proper container.
She was arrested Friday, July 26 at 1:40 p.m. after Graves County Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant at her home on KY Hwy. 1241 just north of Mayfield.
During a preceding investigation and after receiving multiple complaints from citizens alleging illegal drug trafficking, Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden says the investigation led to the covert purchase of Hydrocodone pills from Davis.
Sheriff Hayden says during a search of her home, detectives recovered 10 mg Hydrocodone (multiple), Suboxone strips, bottles containing 7.5 mg Hydrocodone pills, marijuana, scales, drug paraphernalia and numerous EBT (Food stamp) cards belonging to her customers that were utilizing the cards to purchase drugs from Davis.
He says they also recovered $3,588 in cash that was proceeds from illegal drug sales.
In April 2022, sheriff detectives carried out a similar raid on her home and arrested Davis on almost the exact same charges as on July 26, 2024. Davis was scheduled to enter a guilty plea on that case on August 5, 2024.
Davis was taken to an out-of-county detention center.
