Franklin County sheriff reminds drivers to use caution as students return to class

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – As area schools begin classes for the 2024-2025 school year, the Franklin County sheriff reminds drivers to slow down in school zones and use extra caution.

Sheriff Kyle Bacon reminds drivers to not pass a stopped school bus while students are loading and unloading.

Be cautious on morning and afternoon commutes for an increase in young drivers, bicycle traffic and students walking.

There will be an increase of patrol deputies in school zones.

School resource deputies in Franklin County will work in the educational buildings.
