FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Several people gathered Tuesday morning in Franklin County for a highway renaming ceremony in honor of a fallen Christopher firefighter.
Kody Vanfossan, 24, died while battling a six-alarm commercial fire in Christopher in 2019.
State representative Dave Severin, State Senator Terri Bryant, local and regional fire departments and elected officials attended.
The renaming ceremony was held at the intersection of Yellow Banks Road and Route 148 south of Christopher.
