Man dies in crash in Thayer

THAYER, Mo. (KBSI) – A man died in a crash in Thayer on Wednesday.

Richard Haigwood, 77, of Alton, Mo. was driving a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck on U.S. Highway 63 near Warmfork Road.

Thayer police say the crash was reported at 5:32 p.m. on August 21.

Officers responded to the area and found Haigwood and the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash was investigated by Thayer Police Department and was assisted in the investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Oregon County Sheriff’s Office.

Other agencies that responded and assisted with this crash scene include Oregon County Ambulance District, Thayer Fire Department, Survival Flight and Alton Police Department.
