16 southeast MO teachers receive classroom supplies through giveaway

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Sixteen teachers each received hundreds of dollars worth of items from their Amazon Classroom wish lists.

Law firm Cook, Barkett, Ponder & Wolz held a Facebook giveaway awarding 16 teachers $250 worth of items from their Amazon classroom wish lists. In order to qualify, individuals were required to comment which school they taught at, link their Amazon wish list, and share the post.

Winners, selected at random, came from local schools all over the region, in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Sikeston, Benton, Portageville, Bloomfield, Oak Ridge, and Poplar Bluff. Staff at Cook, Barkett, Ponder & Wolz ordered $250 worth of items from each Amazon list and gave each teacher a tote full of the items, along with a custom t-shirt.

“I was so excited to have won Cook, Barkett, Ponder & Wolz’s Amazon wish list giveaway,” said Sydney Staffey. “I can’t wait for my students to see my classroom and everything that was purchased. It’s going to be a great year!”

“It was an honor to be able to award sixteen local educators items to help build their 2024/2025 classrooms,” said J. Michael Ponder. “The work that these individuals do to help mold the minds of our children is valuable and does not go unnoticed.”
