Mount Vernon man arrested after police say he pointed firearm while riding motorcycle

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces charges after police say he rode a motorcycle pointing a firearm in Mount Vernon.

Bradley Kelly, 57, of Mt. Vernon faces charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm.

On August 22 at 4:58 p.m., Mount Vernon police officers responded to a report of a someone riding a motorcycle pointing a firearm while driving on Broadway.

Police say the motorcycle had been involved with a different vehicle in a road rage incident prior to this.

Officers found the motorcycle and conducted a traffic stop at S. 10th Street and Main Street.

Officers recovered a firearm and arrested Kelly.

He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
