FEMA Announces Service Adjustments for Labor Day Holiday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – FEMA Announces Service Adjustments for Labor Day Holiday the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is adjusting its disaster operations in Missouri to observe the upcoming Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 2, 2024.
Disaster Recovery Centers – The Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Sikeston and Doniphan will be closed on Labor Day and Sundays.
– Both DRCs will reopen on Tuesday at 8 a.m. and resume operating hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Monday-Friday) and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Saturdays).
– The Sikeston DRC is located at the YMCA, 511 Taylor Street, Sikeston.
– The Doniphan DRC is located at 209 West Highway St, Doniphan.
– The Disaster Recovery Center in Dexter will close permanently at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 30. FEMA Housing Inspections
– Scheduled inspections for Monday, September 2, will take place as planned.
– No new inspections will be scheduled for Labor Day. FEMA Registrations
– Deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is September 23.

– Ten Missouri counties are eligible for assistance: Barry, Butler, Carter, Howell, New Madrid, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard, and Texas.
FEMA Helpline
– The FEMA Helpline will operate on Labor Day during regular business hours (7 a.m. to 10 p.m. CDT).
– New applications will be accepted, but existing applications will not be processed until Tuesday, September 3.
