Mount Vernon man facing aggravated discharge of a firearm charge

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (KBSI) – A Mount Vernon man faces an aggravated discharge of a firearm charge.

Devin Bruns, 26, of Mt. Vernon faces an aggravated discharge of a firearm charge.

Mt. Vernon police officers responded to the area of S. 19th Street and Lamar Avenue at 6:43 a.m. on September 3 for a report of a shooting.

Officers learned the shooting took place at South 18th Street and Lamar Avenue a block away from where it was reported.

Police say a house and a vehicle were struck in the shooting.

There were no reported injuries.

Mt. Vernon Police investigators and patrol investigated and followed up on leads.

That led to the arrest of Bruns on September 4.

He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
