K9 sniffs out drugs during traffic stop

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop that led to a drug arrest in West Frankfort.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department around 12:22 am on September 18 their department initiated a traffic stop.

Carl G. Foster Jr aged 42 of West Frankfort was identified as the driver.

A request was made for Sheriff’s Office K9 Vader and his handler.

K9 Vador did a free air sniff around the outside of the vehicle which let officers to finding 38 grams of a substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine.

Additionally, deputies also found electronic scales and $4300.00 in cash which was seized.

Foster was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Class 1 Felony) and Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver (Class X Felony).

Foster was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
