Women charged with arson now faces felony forgery charges

DUNKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI)- A women accused of burning down a restaurant in Kennett now faces several new charges.

According to documents, Crystal R. Umfress is charged with felony forgery and filing false documents in Dunklin County on June 4 and July 10.

Crystal R. Umfress was arrested in relation to these charges on September 18, 2024, with no bond.

According to the probable cause statement Umfress was impersonating multiple officers and other individuals by email in an attempt to get confidential information concerning several different businesses liquor license.

According to records one of the businesses she was seeking information on is the business Umfress is accused of 2cd degree arson on.

Umfress is currently in custody at the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office.
