A Man faces assault charges after punching a deputy in the face

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Kenneth Benjamin of Murry, Kentucky faces multiple charges including assault for physically harming several individuals including a deputy with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office on September 22, around 3:30am deputies were called to the emergency room at the Murray Calloway County Hospital in reference to an assault victim with non-life-threatening injuries.
After questioning the victim and investigating, deputies learned the victim was assaulted at their residence on Rob Mason Road.
Deputies went to the residence and began talking with Kenneth Benjamin aged 46 of Murray Kentucky.
While talking with the suspect Benjamin got into a second physical altercation with a second person.
While attempting to separate them a deputy was punched in the face. The deputy did not require medical attention.
Benjamin was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center.

-Assault 4th Degree-Minor Injury (Domestic violence)
-Assault 4th Degree-No Visible Injury
-Assault 3rd Degree-Police Officer (Class D felony)
-Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree
