Pumpkin Patrol volunteers needed

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – The city of Carbondale is seeking volunteers for their annual Pumpkin Patrol event.

On Thursday, October 31, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the Carbondale Police Department will be sponsoring the Halloween safety patrol known as the “Pumpkin Patrol”.

Volunteers wearing orange vests or driving vehicles marked ‘Pumpkin Patrol’ will patrol areas that children go trick or treating.

The Police Department has sponsored the Pumpkin Patrol Event since 1922.

The department strongly encourages parents go trick or treating with their children.

The Pumpkin Patrol will be an extra set of eyes to ensure the safety of children.
