Sheriff’s Office makes arrest after 4-hour standoff

McCracken County, Ky. (KBSI) – A four-hour standoff led to the arrest of 42-year-old Phillip Stout.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday September 26, 2024 deputies received information that Stout was at a residence in the 6000 block of Mayfield Metropolis Road, deputies had been trying to locate Stout on active warrants he had.
Stout, from Paducah, KY, had several warrants: a Probation Violation warrant, two Contempt of Court warrants, and a Bail Jumping 1st Degree warrant, with the underlying charges being Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Opiates, Trafficking in Marijuana, and other charges.
When deputies attempted to locate Stout he barricaded himself in a room and made threats of harm. Multiple deputies responded to the area and the roadway was closed to attempt to protect the public.
Deputies discovered that firearms were accessible to Stout during the early stages of the standoff.
Crisis negotiators and the Special Service Team of the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and immediately began to open a line of communication with Stout.
A little over four hours later, Stout came out of the residence peacefully and deputies were able to take him into custody.
The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges from the standoff are likely.
Stout was taken into custody by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
