Cape Girardeau Police Department makes arrest involving shooting incident from August

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Police Department has made an arrest involving a shooting incident from August.
According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department on August 19, 2024, at about 08:45 a.m. officers with the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the 200-Block of S. Pacific for a report of shots fired.
Officers made contact with two victims that stated while in the front yard they observed two black males, one identified as Jac’quez Jackson age 26 of Jackson, MO on the property. One victim told Jackson and the other individual to leave the property. Both subjects began walking away before Jackson turned around, brandished a firearm at the victims, and began walking towards them. Jackson then began firing the weapon at the victims. Both Jackson and the other subject ran prior to officers arriving on scene.
On August 19, 2024, a no-bond warrant was issued for Jac’quez Jackson for Class B felony of assault in the first degree, felony armed criminal action X’s 2, Class B felony of unlawful use of a weapon and Class D felony of unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Cape Girardeau Police Department along with several agencies immediately began searching for Jackson.
On September 26, 2024, at about 6:30 p.m. after an extensive search officers located Jackson at a residence in the 700-Block of William St. in Cape Girardeau.
Jackson was taken into custody and transported to the Cape Girardeau Police Department for the outstanding warrants.
Jackson currently has no bond.
