Southeast Missouri State University hosts their annual family weekend, September 28

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – This weekend is family weekend at Southeast Missouri State University.
The university welcoming families, friends, and alumni to campus to enjoy events, tailgating, and more.
We talked to a family at SEMO’s family weekend events who tells us they really enjoy SEMOs events.
Amy and Jason Eggart, the parents of SEMO Tight End Logan Eggart, tell us having the opportunity to connect with their son and come see where he goes to class is not something they take for granted.
“just an opportunity for the family get together come on campus go see where he goes to school his classes meet his friends and enjoy the football game.” Says Jason Eggart, enjoying his opportunity to spend time with his son.
Along with parents, many siblings enjoying the opportunity to see their sibling for the weekend at their school.
“I like how we all get to spend time together, and how we get to just go places, and be together as a family. Since this is my sister‘s last year of being at SEMO, I think it’s just really fun and important for us to be here.” Says Sofie Hutsell, the sibling of a SEMO senior student.
The Eggart family says they are thankful for everything SEMO does to help the families feel included.
“we just appreciate it, we think SEMO does a really great job of keeping families connected to our students who go here,” Says Amy Eggart.
The family looks forward to watching their sons first family weekend game as a player, as the Redhawks host Norhtwestern State.
The Redhawks are 7-2 on family weekend games under head coach Tom Matukewicz. Winning four of their last five family weekend games under the head coach.
