Local organization gives caregivers peace of mind

MT. VERNON, IL (KBSI) — Some members of Project Rescue of Jefferson County board provided information on services they provide at a care givers event in Mt. Vernon.

Project Rescue of Jefferson County protects at-risk senior citizens, and special needs children and adults. Those who have certain medical conditions can benefit from this program. at-risk adults or children can wear a one-ounce wrist or ankle transmitter that emits a radio tracking signal. When caregivers call 911 to report a wandering episode, a trained search team will respond to where the individual was last seen and use mobile electronic tracking equipment to find them.
