Homeowner calls 911 after a man broke into his home

BENTON, Ill. (KBSI) – A man called 911 after a man broke into his home in an attempted burglary.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on October 14, 2024, during the evening hours they received a 911 call from a homeowner in Benton.

The caller stated that he confronted a man who had entered his home, and the man ran away from the residence.

Deputies quickly responded to the residence and found a man near the residence on the caller’s property.

The man fit the description the homeowner gave officers.

The man was identified as Rudolph C. Bramlett age 47 of Zeigler.

Bramlett was taken into custody and faces charges of Residential Burglary, Criminal Trespass to a Residence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Bramlett was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
