KSP investigating Trooper-involved shooting

BARDWELL, KY (KBSI) — Kentucky State Police have been requested by KSP Post 1 to investigate a shooting that happened on October 18th.

Preliminary investigation shows KSP Post 1 was notified a man had called and said he had shot his wife.

Troopers and deputies with the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on County Road 1591 near the community of Bardwell.

When they arrived, officers saw a man at the home with a gun.

During the interaction, the man shot several rounds. A trooper fired shots back, and the man was hit.

He was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Troopers found a woman dead inside the home, and KSP is conducting a death investigation.
